  • Michelle Malycha is an experienced aged care executive, Registered Nurse, and Non-Executive Director with more than 20 years of leadership across Australia’s health and aged care sectors. Her career has spanned clinical operations, executive management, governance, compliance, and organisational transformation within public, private, and not-for-profit services.

    Michelle is recognised for her expertise in clinical governance, accreditation recovery, quality improvement, and strategic leadership. She has successfully led residential aged care services through significant operational reform, regulatory compliance processes, workforce culture improvement, and occupancy growth. Her work has included direct engagement with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, WHS and compliance reviews, and post-acquisition integration projects.

    Currently serving as a Director and Clinical Governance Sub-Committee Member at Sunnyside House Inc., Michelle contributes to strategic oversight, risk management, and governance aligned with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards. She is passionate about advancing safe, ethical, and person-centred care, particularly in dementia and aged care reform initiatives.

    Michelle holds a Master of Healthcare Leadership and has completed specialised Clinical Governance for Boards training through the Australasian Institute of Clinical Governance. She also holds qualifications in project leadership and quality systems through HarvardX and QUT.

    Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to continuous improvement, Michelle brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her governance and advocacy work, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for older Australians and their families.
